Our Mission

For more than 100 years, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System has provided faith-based, quality and compassionate care to the people of Louisiana and now Mississippi. We seek to make a significant difference in the communities we serve through Catholic health services.

Throughout Louisiana — from Monroe to Lafayette, Baton Rouge to Bogalusa — and in Jackson, our healthcare ministry takes to heart the words of St. Francis and his prayer that we be made instruments of God’s peace. Our compassion is just as important as the care and treatment we provide.

Mission

Inspired by the vision of St. Francis of Assisi and the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, we extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to God’s people, especially those most in need.

We call forth all who serve in this healthcare ministry to share their gifts and talents to create a Spirit of Healing — with reverence and love for all of life, with joyfulness of spirit, and with humility and justice for all those entrusted to our care.

We are, with God’s help, a healing and spiritual presence for each other and for the communities we are privileged to serve.

More Than Healthcare

You know us for our comprehensive range of healthcare services. You trust our physician group for your primary care and specialty needs. We are privileged to serve you and your loved ones when in need of healing.

Part of our mission is to provide for the needs of the people in the communities that we serve. We also dedicate ourselves to important programs that go beyond providing healthcare. They are the tangible work carried out in living our mission and are at the heart of what our healthcare ministry is called to do.

Below are a few examples of this important work.
