Reopening Safely

We are always prepared to serve.

We hope you are continuing to manage through the challenges of COVID 19 and we’re looking forward to safely resuming our full array of services. As Governor Bel Edwards’ orders allow, we are moving toward reopening healthcare services that have been temporarily unavailable, such as elective surgeries and diagnostic testing. We’re also reopening our clinics for appointments like well visits and annual checkups. We know safety and convenience are important factors to you when using our services.

We hope you are comfortable coming to St. Francis Medical Group clinics for care. Of course, we’ll continue to offer video visits so you can be cared for within the comfort of your home, when possible, and are putting special precautions in place as we reopen our clinics.

Precautions include:

  • Everyone – including team members, providers, and patients – will be required to wear a mask when entering a clinic. Please bring yours with you when you come.
  • We’re regularly disinfecting our clinics throughout the entire day. A complete crew does deep cleaning each night.
  • To support social distancing, we’re limiting the number of people in the reception area at one time. Schedulers are helping us space appointments and we’ll ask that you either come to appointments alone or with only one caregiver if you need assistance.

Our ERs Are Clean and Safe

We also know that many of you are uncomfortable with seeking care in an emergency room and worried about coming down with COVID 19. We understand the concern but don’t want you to put off life-saving care if you need it. That’s an even greater risk to you. To reassure you, our emergency room has separate areas for treating COVID 19 patients and staffed by a completely different team than our regular treatment areas. If you have a condition that requires emergency care, please don’t put it off due to fear of COVID 19.

Based on the large number of you who have utilized video visits, we hope you are feeling very positive about this new telehealth version of care. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to activate your MyChart account. By doing so, you’ll be able to easily conduct video visits with us. In addition, you can communicate directly with your provider via secure email, request prescription refills, view test results, and much more. Learn more and view a new video we created that explains how to activate a MyChart account.

We are expanding our offerings of video visits, and encouraging new and existing patients to be seen by a provider from home.
